I'm currently a PhD student at the University of Calgary in the Department of Computer Science and I work in the Interactions Lab researching Human-Computer Interaction.
My previous life before grad school was as an independent games developer. I helped design and program games for iOS and Android such as the award winning Legendary Wars and it's sequels Monster Wars and Stellar Wars. I worked on those games in a startup basement with some friends, but I also collaborated on them with people all across the United States. The troubles and tribulations of this remote collaboration has led me to where I am in the Curio Lab and Rice Lab within the Interactions lab studying collaboration at a distance.
When I'm not at my computer I'm either training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, currently a blue belt (previously from Josh Russell) training at Affinity Academy, or playing board games.
